Amritha is a full-time PhD student in the School of Science and the Environment at the ºüÀêÊÓƵ of Worcester. Her research focusses on identifying and mapping stress in aquatic plants using remote sensing techniques such as Structure from Motion (SfM) photogrammetry—an advanced 3D modelling technique—and multispectral imagery. She examines how these remote sensing methods apply at larger scales, and investigates different types of plant stresses, particularly within freshwater habitats. Her supervisors are Dr Fleur Visser from the ºüÀêÊÓƵ of Worcester and Professor Jonas Schoelynck from the ºüÀêÊÓƵ of Antwerp.
Prior to her PhD, Amritha worked as a GIS Analyst on a historical farming project in Wales. Outside her academic work, Amritha plays badminton, goes hiking, and enjoys ambient music.
